I didn’t know if RV consignment really existed, but I checked into it and found out that it exists in a big way!
My husband told me that since we needed a smaller RV (because our kids are gone and we are empty nesters now), we needed to sell the big one that we have. He said it would probably take quite a while, and that he needed to figure out the best place to park it with a FOR SALE sign in the windshield. I suggested to him that maybe we could put it on consignment. The only thing I knew about RV consignment sales was that when I had used clothing I wanted to sell, there was a shop that would purchase it from me and place it on display. When it would sell, I’d get a check! It’s really quite simple. They look over the garment, determine if it’s sellable, and when it sales I get some money. They have a lot of customers going in and out of their used clothing store, so the clothes don’t last long on the shelf! If I can do consignment clothing, why can’t I do a consignment RV?
When I suggested my husband look into an RV consignment, he looked at me like I had grown an extra head. He said that selling RVs was not like selling clothes, and that he would handle the big transactions of the family. That phrase, by the way, is not a very smart thing to say to a wife! It’s as though he thinks he has some sort of magical business sense that we females are incapable of having! I love him, but he can be real squid.
While my husband went searching for a place to park our recreational vehicle for sale, I went searching the Internet, typing in “consignment RV,” and low and behold, I found sellmyrvtoday.com! You do EXACTLY what I have been doing with my used clothing for years. I went ahead and placed a call, and spoke to one of your staff, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. He told me that all he needed was a little information about what kind of motorhome it was, and he would come take a look at it and determine a fair price to ask. This was on a Friday … he showed up on a Monday, while my husband was at work.
Before I continue, let me tell you where my husband decided to park our beautiful recreational vehicle for sale. He parked it in a vacant lot on a busy street, even though he had no permission to park it there, and he had no idea to whom the lot belonged. Over the weekend, someone had thrown a cinder block through the front windshield of our gorgeous recreational vehicle! My guess is that it was the owner of the lot.
I gave your representative the keys and told him what corner it was parked on, and he is the one that discovered the broken window. He saw the price we were asking for the unit and asked how we came up with that. He said that he thought it was worth more than what the sign in the window said, and said that we should mark it up before he placed it on his lot! Are you kidding me? He even said that I could either have our insurance pay to fix the window, or he would fix it and just deduct the amount from the purchase price. I had the insurance fix it. Would you believe that within three weeks we had a check for the full asking price in our hand?
I’m so glad I called your awesome operation sellmyrvtoday.com. Not only was it profitable for us, but the look on my husband’s face when he found out I had agreed to sell it on an RV consignment was priceless. Especially when he asked how I did it, and I said I just did the same thing I did with my used clothes!
Big Thanks,
